A controversial talking Jesus doll that quotes the Bible at the push of a button has been launched in the US.

It's one of a collection of holy figures, called the Messengers of Faith, which also includes Barbie-sized Moses and Virgin Mary dolls.
Children push a button in the back of the £8.50 dolls to make them recite passages from the Bible.

Boston man Cliff Rockwood designed the 12-inch-high dolls, hoping they will foster faith in children.
He told the Boston Globe: "'There's dolls that wet the bed, there's dolls that cry.
''There's every kind of doll except one that speaks hope and tells you I have a plan for your life."
Rockwood said, he has produced 2,000 dolls so far, invested ''hundreds of thousands of dollars," and spent six months marketing the toys.
He declined to speculate how Jesus would view the dolls, but said he had no qualms about the product.
''I feel good about it," he said, ''because I'm trying to share his love with children."
