The Dawn of Infinity
Time is the only thing that heals everything. This useful principle of time was realised long ago by people who saw life and how it works. It was since then that time was regarded as an entity that was not supposed to be mocked. To serve as a mark of distinction in the realm of time and reap the rewards man directed all his efforts to invent a mechanism or a device to measure this sacred entity. It lead to an invention of the shadow clocks, day clocks, vintage clocks and finally, watches.
Watches provide a foundation to many basic principles in applied sciences as it has the capacity to measure time in units easy to comprehend. The dawn of the 16th century in Europe saw an upheaval caused due to a rocking invention – The mechanical watch. The mechanical watch was mostly powered with the help of a winding main spring that changed gears and kept the hands of the clock moving. In the 1960s there came the season of Quartz watches. Its ingenious mechanism that kept it running on electricity and record time with a vibrating quartz crystal proved quite successful for financial set outs and entrepreneurship dreams.
There were various types of watches before the development of wrist watches. Clock-watch, pocket-watch, Balance spring watch and Chronometers touched new horizons before the advent of the wrist watches. Until the early 20th century, wrist watches were exclusively worn by women and men often wore something called an “arm watch”. First worn by military men, wrist watches or “bracelets” proved quite fruitful in the war fare and thus became popular for their easy portability. They easily gained momentum and the fashion swept continents together with its popularity and status.
Fashion developed alongside sturdiness and durability and watches became more realistic than ever. Jewels like sapphires, rubies, emeralds adorned watches and became common luxuries for rich people. The early 2010s markets demanded ingenuity and received it in the form of smart watches. Smart watches made their debut as a computer wore on an individual’s wrist and gained an immense fan following of technological geeks and tech enthusiasts. It mostly contained a portable music player and a digital assistant, both wireless and thus, easily transportable.
New software developments in turn developed the smart watches even more progressively. They started to include complex mechanisms like calendar, Bluetooth, flash memory and accelerometers. Businessmen exploited these inclusions to gain profits from a booming market and thus staggered a little. The weight of the watch increased to over 108 grams and that made it too heavy to be worn on a delicate wrist. This garnered criticism and made geniuses rethink the model. The invention of microchips that could accommodate more data in lesser space brought the entrepreneurs back in the game.
Smart watches had everything to offer to a man except that it still lacked a strong perspective of the future. Futuristic inventions loomed on man as a wolf on a herd of cattle. Countless experiments and imaginative thoughts combined to form a physical replica of touch screen watches. It still had all the features as a smart watch and much more. It proved that humans can have control over everything simply by the tiny miracles that are their hands, strictly speaking, their wrists. Fingerprint sensors were introduced as security became of prime importance in developing times. Companies collaborated with search engines to optimize the data and provide maximum satisfaction to their consumers.
Which man will be satisfied with only one technological device, when he can have two? The answer is probably no one. Companies realised this tendency and before long invented touch screen watches that were compatible with mobile phones as well as laptops. The touch screen watches were pioneered by Google, followed by global companies like LG, Samsung, Sony and Toshiba. Watches compatible with both android and iOS devices were sought out and the race in the local as well as the international markets intensified.
Whatever may be the developments, smart watches and touch screen watches have firm foundations of historical evolution, from simple yet huge mechanical clocks to complex yet tiny wrist ones. It all stands at a point where miracles seem genuine enough to convert into reality and time stretches to an infinite horizon of new beginnings.
